Illusion

by Rashi Khattar (15)

Laying my head on my pillow,
Memories start a flashback in my mind
And tears start to stroll down from my eyes.
With glassy eyes I stare at the ceiling.
I think of all the memories we lived together
And promises to live together till eternity.
But, I remember I can stay away from you, your fake promises, your voice, your everything, Everything that once were possessed by you.
I wanted to live with you till eternity and not let our love die.
But, promises are meant to be broken
And here I am again thinking of you, your smile in which I lost mine.
You loved me for who you wanted me to be not who I was;
I lost myself while becoming what you wanted me to be.
I loved you for your pure heart but you never possessed that heart…
You just faked it to me
But for me your fakeness was your reality and for you
My reality was my fakeness.
It hurts. But now…
It’s all over.
