40th Annual Day of Ashok Academy
Ashok Academy, Mumbai (est. 1979), a CBSE Board school owned by a Parsi Management, with cent per cent result of Std X all the years, celebrated its 40th Annual Day amidst great zest and vibrance at St Andrew’s Auditorium, Bandra, on 13 December 2019.
The programme commenced with an inspiring welcome speech by Ms. Dilshad Irani, the administrator of the school.
The cultural programme, based on the theme “Ill-Effects of Social Media”, commenced with a scintillating Welcome Dance by the well-trained dancers of the school. The performance by the children kept the audience spellbound. The major attraction was the Hindi play, Duniya Crazy Hai, which depicted how the present generation is living in a virtual world and has forgotten the importance of social and moral values. The seven evils — Anger, Lust, Pride, Sloth, Greed, Gluttony and Jealousy — prevailing in the world were beautifully presented in the play as how they have taken over the entire human race incessantly and made them their slaves.
The cultural programme, which included a variety of dance performances starting from lower KG to Std X, gave a glimpse of the treasure of talents in the school. The well-coordinated and synchronized orchestra presentation by the students of Std X stole the show. The nightingales of Std X sang a melodious song Luv You Zindagi, which motivated the audience to a great extent.
The prize distribution ceremony felicitated the best students in English, Hindi, Art and the Best All-Rounder, with the motive of encouraging and rewarding our country’s future. The I.G. Mogul Prize for the best student in English Language was bagged by Eshita Nayyar of Std X, The Pratiksha Mehta Memorial Prize for the best student in Hindi Language and The Ram Award for the best All-Rounder both were won by Ananya Chavadhal of Std X, and The Ashok Memorial Trophy for the best artist of the school was awarded to Arya Kashikar of Std X. Mrs. Roshan Irani, the co-founder of the school, blessed the students and the guests with her motivating speech. Ms. Dilshad Irani announced the names of the achievers. The function was presided over by Paritosh Tripathi, well-known TV actor and comedian, as the Chief Guest.
The Principal, Mrs. Kulsoom Fatima, proposed a Vote of Thanks and urged the parents to be particular about healthy parenting. The entire programme was planned and co-ordinated by the students under the guidance of the teachers, the Principal and the Management.
