A person without a dream, and a nation without a vision cannot survive

THIS MONTH’S TOPIC: “A person without a dream, and a nation without a vision cannot survive.” Do you agree?

Dreams are the driving force for every individual and are the seeds of future vision. If a person has no dream for himself/herself then surely he/she won’t be able to have a vision for the nation. It surely will hamper the progress of the nation.

Dreams are very necessary, as they make us realise what we actually want to pursue in life. A noble vision acts as the torch bearer for a nation and helps it define its goals. In the absence of the above two, the fire that inspires us to work goes missing, and we are bound to fail.

Setting a goal is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible. Visions and dreams provide a focal point and specificity to our lives. They energize the present for the future, improve performance and driven by passion, they create real results.

It is hard to imagine a life without any dreams. Our dream is the main reason for our existence. Likewise, a nation without a vision means a nation without a future. No vision means no hope.

If a person has no dream, he/she will not have any passion, but if a person has a dream he/she will work hard to see it come true, and will use it for the progress of the nation, as well. A nation without a vision is like a nation without any order and its people will soon disintegrate.

A person without dream and a nation without a vision is like a vehicle with no driver. He/she cannot achieve any success as there is no destination to target.

A life without dreams is meaningless. A person without a dream would be just spending his life instead of living it. It would be really difficult to survive without having any dream. Life becomes meaningful, worth living, when we hustle hard in pursuance of our dreams. Similarly, a nation cannot progress without a game plan to fulfil its vision. A nation without a vision is like a ship cruising on the high seas without a sense of direction.

Without dreams a person’s life is aimless. Dreams are vital for all, and without having a goal in life it is not possible for anyone to plan ahead. Vision guides us towards the goal. We cannot emerge as a developed nation if we have no vision.

A person without dream cannot really survive as the dream is the one force which compels us to move forward, and achieve what we long for. A nation too, to be successful, requires a vision. A clear vision brings focus and direction to it.

We strive hard to achieve our goals and dreams. A nation, too, should have a blue print for its future. A person’s dreams and nation’s goals are linked to each other. Hence, a person without dreams and nation without vision cannot survive.

A person without a dream is a person without a future. According to me, a vision is also very important in leadership. Without a vision, without a long-term plan, people will be doomed to wander aimlessly. Having an idea about where one is heading helps him/her in getting there.

People who have a passion for their dreams will go after them regardless of the challenges and obstacles they face. Their passion will keep them focused on their path. It is rightly said, “If you can dream it, then you can achieve it”.

Dreams turn the life-goals of a person into a passion. When a million aspirants who form a nation strive together, their personal dreams will unite to form a national vision; and which will undoubtedly lead to progress. Lack of either can be a serious challenge to a person’s and a nation’s survival.

Without dreams a person will have no ambition to chase his goals, and will never learn to work hard. Similarly a nation without a vision will not be able take important steps for the betterment of its people.
Namya Malhotra (13)

A nation must have a vision and a person must have a dream to prosper. Without a dream and a vision, a person will not be able to use his talents and education skillfully, and would soon give in to despair.

Without a vision a nation cannot progress and develop, and a person without a dream is like a dead man. Thomas Alva Edison failed a thousand times while inventing the electric bulb, but without losing hope, he continued with his dreams. “The key to happiness is having dreams, the key to success is making them come true,” says James Allen.

A person without a dream may survive but he won’t feel he is alive. There is no use for such a life. Such is the case with a nation, too, though it may survive and stay on the world map. People will soon lose interest in living in such a country.

A man without a vision is a man without any future, and will always return to his past. Similarly, a nation without a vision will not survive. It will be left behind and face an identity crisis.

A dream is a visualisation of how an individual sees himself/herself in the near and distant future, or what he/she identifies as an ambition in life. The same holds true of a nation. A nation’s vision is for the development of its people and for making sure that all of them are satisfied.
Diya Vinod Surjuse (16)

People who have a passion for their dreams will go after them regardless of the challenges and obstacles they face while the others who have no dreams will get scared when they think what they will have to do to achieve their goals. A nation without a vision cannot be successful as personal dreams will get disoriented.

“The most pathetic person in the world is someone who has sight but no vision,” said Helen Keller. So it’s important to have vision for a person and for the country. Any successful endeavour requires a vision. A dream or a vision helps one to be prepared for any upcoming situation and be able to tackle it.

Life ends when you stop dreaming, and a nation that has no vision is like a lock without a key to the doors leading to progress. A person without a dream and a nation without a vision travel recklessly not knowing where to go.
