Concern about being touched on the road

Many of my friends have raised the concern about being touched on the road by strangers or by family members. Most of them do nothing out of fear that this is something that no one should know about. Some also feel guilty that they must have done something wrong. My thoughts are mixed, can you share what you feel about the same?

Inappropriate touching is faced by 5 out of 10 individuals and 8 out of 10 girls. The fact that it makes one uncomfortable itself is deemed to be an inappropriate touch. Most individuals choose not to speak about it due to shame, fear and guilt. But not speaking about the same does not mean that this incident would stop. It is important to raise one’s voice in order to spread awareness about the same. If you witness a situation like this at home, inform the parent whom you are closer to; keeping quiet is not the solution. No matter who the person is, related to the family or an outsider, report the same. A person who is a victim of the same will be in a traumatised state and will require support from family and friends. A victim is a victim, and should not feel ashamed, as it is never their fault. Feeling guilty about something that was beyond your control is incorrect.
