Create your own fulfilling lifestyle
Life is like a plain canvas for an artist, a blank paper for a writer, an instrument for a musician and a stage for a dancer. It is an opportunity presented before us. Not one or two opportunities, rather, a bundle of them. Yet, it is not always as positive as it may seem. We may have a colleague who cannot stop taking advantage of our achievements, or a narcissistic friend who cannot stop putting us down to feel better about themselves, or a boss who lacks temperament. Life can be frustrating at times. But most people don’t make any effort to make their lives better. They just rant to their friends and go to bed. They wake up the next day and the same cycle continues. Is it because they don’t know what to do? Some people really don’t know. While the others just get tired of their lives and stop believing in themselves.
Sometimes people get so tired of life and its monotony that the “how-to-be-happy” tips on Google do not work for them anymore. Most of them are just broad pieces of advice that do not fit into specific situations. Only you can identify your problem unless you have a therapist who can help you figure out your “particular” problem. Either way, this article is going to help you find the key to a fulfilling life. Therapists tell you to journal, pen down your thoughts or to meditate. However, nothing can work if you don’t believe in yourself.
To believe in yourself, you need to make time for yourself. No matter how busy a person you are, you will face a burnout if you don’t allocate time for the things that you love. By this, I do not mean that you binge watch a 22-hour-long web series on Netflix. Rather, I suggest you engage in an activity that helps you relax. Like taking a long shower, or going for a walk in nature. It does not have to be either of these two activities. Do you get what I mean? Any relaxing activity.
I am a law student who lives in a hostel. At times, things can get super frustrating when professors overload us with assignments. Yet, I go out to the terrace and hula hoop while I watch the beautiful sunset. It is important that we take breaks and contemplate on our life regardless of how busy we are, so that we strike a healthy work-life balance.
All of us have our own ways of bringing happiness into our lives. A picture that we adore might be repulsive to another. A dance that we despise might be graceful to another. And a poem that we consider boring might have another’s whole heart. Believe in yourself more than anything else, as beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder! The moment you trust in your work, you will manifest the life that you wish to live.
