Go classic with blue
When it comes to fashion, the best thing about the new year is that we finally get to say goodbye to the old styles and colours and welcome in the new shades and trends. This also means that Pantone presents us with the Colour of the Year which makes everything even better! This year, 2020, has begun with the classics and Pantone has declared ‘Classic Blue’ as the Colour of the Year. What does this remind you of? To me, classic blue means classic blue denim and that suave blue suit. This colour is classic and timeless and simple at the same time.
Blue isn’t just a colour; it has a deeper meaning and it’s all about Mother Nature. The times are changing and with time the climate is changing as well. Global warming and climate change are impacting the earth and the colour blue, which represents the ocean and the sky, helps bring more attention towards this global talk about the climate. Last year we saw a lot of blues; the B-town divas wore classic denim pieces and numerous shades of blue that we just can’t get over. Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Deepika Padukone, all wore the classic denim on denim looks. And how can we forget some of the best blue sequin looks from Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Kriti Sanon. All the other hues of blue that we saw on the ramp are enough proof that this colour will take over this year. But this also means that we all need classic blue in our wardrobes and style our blues right. But before you step out to shop, here are some tips to add classic blue to your wardrobe in the trendiest way in 2020.
Women’s wear
Begin by digging out your retro classic pieces of denim and play with denim on denim looks. The denim trend never goes out of fashion and the best way to style it is by picking two similar shades of denim and styling them together.
Satin and silk fabrics are in trend and it’s always a good idea to invest in a satin or silk saree in the classic blue colour. Don’t shy away from going bold with your all blue outfit.
Men’s wear
The best way to add blue to your wardrobe is by investing in some classic denim pieces. Dig out your blue jeans from the back of your wardrobe and throw them on.
Invest in a good blue denim jacket. A denim jacket is a classic piece that you can pair with anything and everything.
