Hope

by Navita Mathpal

Shining eyes and a trembling heart,
A look from him, and…
Me, falling apart!
Oh, this stupid heart
Still hopes he’ll come back.
Come, and then never let go.
But the days come,
And nights fall.
Each time my hope
Flickers more and more.
I hope,
The flames never die,
Even if my heart says goodbye!
