Hope

I don’t know
What hope is,
But I want to keep it alive,
In myself,
As in others.
Hopelessness is what bothers
A peaceful, joyful mind
With its utmost devilish kind.
I don’t know
What hope is…
Hope is something that
Tells you to go on,
Or persuades you to work
That it will bear fruit some day,
And makes you wait eagerly
For that one day.
Hope is the very essence of life,
That reminds you that
You are still living.
I don’t know
What hope is…
A person who loses hope,
Is worse than the dead and unliving,
Hopelessness is all he will have to cope.
Unhappiness is what he gives
To himself and others around,
With sad ties he is bound.
Hope should never be lost
It is worth a life’s cost.
