I want to be a geologist
I am a student of Class 10. I want to become a geologist. Which subjects should I choose in Class 11? Is there any good scope in this field? Please help me with the list of institutes and courses.

Geologists are concerned with the changes of the earth over time, such as climate change and land formation. They study composition, structure, and history of the earth’s crust and search for mineral and energy resources.
B.Sc. (Geology), a three-year course, is the basic course to enter into this field. Eligibility is 10+2 in science subjects. Numerous private and Government institutes across India offer this course. Some of them are various IITs, University of Delhi, Banaras Hindu University. But only graduation is not enough, you must plan to go for a PG course.
There are good job opportunities in fields like teaching, research and organizational work. Many national-level organizations require a geologist for research and exploration work. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), New Delhi, conducts the examination for the post of geologist (junior) in the Geological Survey of India.
