I want to be an automobile designer

I am student of Class 12 (Arts). I want to be an automobile designer. Please help me with the courses that I can take. I would also like to get information about institutions in India that offer such courses.

Any automobile is made up of hundreds of small units and each unit is significant for its smooth functioning. Automobile Designing is basically about designing these little things — from designing the fender to the mirror to the steering wheel. The design is carried out with the help of specialized software tools.

There is no institute that offers courses exclusively for Automobile Designing. But Industrial Design Centre (IDC), IIT Mumbai offers a two-year Master of Design in Product Design, in which one of the papers is Automobile designing. To join this course, you should first finish B.E./B.Tech. after 10+2 (PCM). National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, offers Industrial Design course, in which automobile designing is also taught. For this course, requirement is 10+2 with any stream.
