I want to be an IAS officer
I’m a student of Class XII (Arts). I, however, would like to be an IAS officer with Public Administration as an optional subject. It’s the one area of my interest. What are the various opportunities that I’ll be able to land with a degree in public administration?

Public administration is a system through which the government carries out its business of ruling and controlling effectively. Any unelected public employee who deals directly with the general public can be said to be a public administrator. They perform a wide range of functions, including managing city budgets, developing policy and legislation, implementing policies, analyzing data to determine and solve public needs, ensuring security, etc.
Careers in Public Administration require administrative skills, a solid understanding of accounting and finance, knowledge of government workings and organizational proficiency. The ongoing pressure of globalization, information technology, and terrorism has given rise to a huge requirement for specialized, educated public administrators. A variety of jobs are available in public and private organizations, educational institutes and government organizations for a trained and motivated public administrator. You may work as General Operations Manager, Labour Relations Manager, Budget Analyst, Tax Examiner, Purchasing Agent, Logistician, etc.
