I want to become a chartered accountant

I am a student of Class XI (Commerce). I want to become a chartered accountant but I also want to get a degree in actuarial science. Should I first complete my CA course and then do one in actuarial science?

To become a Chartered Accountant (CA), you need to clear a series of courses and examinations conducted by Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), New Delhi. Postal tuition is provided for all the courses. For details, check the web site (icai.org). You may join any graduation course along with this course. There are many universities in India that provide graduation degree courses in Actuarial Sciences.

If you’re interested in becoming an actuary, then only graduation in actuarial science is not enough. You still need to become a Fellow in the Institute of Actuaries of India (IAI) (actuariesindia.org) and need to clear papers of IAI through self-study. You may also join IAI directly after 10+2 itself, but you need to clear their entrance exam — Actuarial Common Entrance Test (ACET).
