I wish

I wish I could keep you a little longer,
But you gotta go ‘cause you have things to do.
I wish I could keep you a little longer,
But now you are too busy for me, girl,
Like I was for you till now.

I wish I could be the sun,
To guide you in the dark.
I wish I could be the stars,
To watch you sleep at night.

I wish I could be with you forever,
To protect you from all the bad.
I wish I could be your shadow,
To follow you wherever you go.

I wish I could just hide you in my arms.
But not every wish gets fulfilled.
I wish not to leave you ever,
But that’s not possible ‘cause it’s just not our time.
I just hope that soon it will be,
So till then I just wish to get a place in your memories,
To stay in there forever.
