In the moment
Paving a road for the future,
We trample the present,
Failing to live the moment before it dies.
Just a glance back,
Fills this empty human vessel with anxiety.
Uncertainty looms in the air,
With a whiff of the desolation and guilt of the past,
Of unfulfilled promises,
Of wrong decisions,
Of broken hearts,
Of a lost moment.
Images of luxury sold by the merchants of war,
Makes us forget,
The sense of the shattered road behind.
We forget the past and pass with a mind ahead,
The excitement of the future is resentment in disguise,
Failing to live life for the moment.
