Into your eyes

by Yahya Aslam

Shooting stars in the dark sky,
People pray for others and aims that are high,
Some beg for love, some for true friendship,
What I long for is your companionship.
You and me under this beautiful sky,
Watching these stars fly by.
You, with your twinkling eyes and sweet breath,
Making me want you to my death,
Your hair, like shade from hot sun,
Your presence, my strength without a gun,
Twinkling eyes showing me the path in the dark,
Soft hands, soothing away my problems.
Oh! These shooting stars, when will they get me to you?
My heart longs for you like grass for dew.
Come out of my mind and fall into my arms,
Save me from my conscience and all my self-harm.
Waiting for you to show up,
So I may look down from the skies up,
Into your eyes, your deep ocean eyes,
To be swept and be carried away in their tides.
