Graphology is a scientific method of identifying, evaluating and understanding a person’s personality through strokes and patterns revealed in his/her handwriting. Handwriting is referred to as a brain print; research scientists in the field of neuroscience have categorized neuromuscular movement tendencies as they are correlated with specific observable personality traits.

Each personality trait is represented by a specific neurological brain pattern. Each neurological brain pattern produces a unique neuromuscular movement that is the same for every person who has that personality trait.

While writing, these tiny movements occur unconsciously. Handwriting is more like body language but more specific and is frozen for a detailed analysis of our unconscious habitual moment.

Beginning with this issue I will be teaching specific parameters of handwriting analysis which will help individuals in understanding themselves better.

There are various applications of graphology in different fields. Here’s how and where graphology can be useful in our day-to-day lives:

Self-discovery: Graphology helps you learn about your strengths and weaknesses and see yourself in a totally new light. It can reveal various problems and its reasons that are associated with the past. It also reveals your personality traits, which cause stumbling blocks or self-sabotaging behaviours, etc., resulting in low self-esteem, low productivity, inefficient performance, etc., that in turn cause under-utilization of one’s potential!

Child development: Graphology is an important tool in assessing a child’s strength, weakness, moods, behaviours, likes, dislikes, etc. This becomes vital in dealing with issues that the child himself may not be aware of at times, e.g., on one side of the spectrum is that a child has innate talent (aptitude) and once identified, his skills can be nurtured; on the other hand, a child could be going through sexual abuse and may not be aware of it (consciously) or may not be able to verbalize it, at such times, graphology can pinpoint the child’s state of mind. So parents can use graphology to understand their child and support them more effectively.

Relationships, compatibility and graphology: Humans are social animals. From cradle to grave, they need relationships and companionship. Therefore, relationships and compatibility at most times is the centre point in life. Graphology can help you make these better.
