Life is a carnival

Life: a carnival, abundant parallels we can draw,
Both effervescent of euphoria, and sometimes mundane or even flawed.
Every day in one’s life may seem like a carnival ride
That makes the adrenaline in the blood rush and rapidly rise.

Life is a merry-go-round, the simplest of the games
But is relevant as ever even though it is outmoded and quaint
“What goes around, comes around” is a lesson we have all learnt,
And just as timeless as the Ferris wheel
This evergreen thought is never adjourned.

Life is a rollercoaster, a daunting yet exhilarating ride
But it is up to us whether we laugh or shut our eyes
Whether we scream in sheer terror or throw our hands up in the air
Life is just a carnival, life is a crowded fair.

With so many people around, there is so much to observe and learn,
With positivity in the air, ebullience is all we discern
We wait in long lines to enjoy a short ride
But at the end, it is that moment that truly makes us feel alive.
