On 21 June, we celebrate World Selfie Day. Do you know the origin of the first-ever selfie? Interestingly, what we call a selfie nowadays was taken way back in 1839. While not termed as such then, the self-portrait was taken by Robert Cornelius, an amateur chemist and photography enthusiast, in Philadelphia.
But whether a selfie or a regular photo, photography is something that gives us immense pleasure. The idea of freezing some of the most precious moments of our life can really be invigorating. Photography will always remain one of the most cherished hobbies for people of all ages. Photography as a hobby can never get outdated; it is timeless.
Waheeda Rehman, one of the most popular Indian actresses, took up photography as a hobby at the age of 81. She became a wildlife photographer in 2018 and holds exhibitions of her pictures from her safaris across the globe.
