I’m not serious about my studies

I’m an 18-year-old girl. I am very interested in my studies, but not at all serious about them. Even if there is plenty of time to cover the portion, I start thinking about it only on the eve of the exam. I don’t have any tension regarding the exam. The night before the exam I don’t sleep and continue studying until dawn. And I’m able to cover the portion in this little time. I’m also getting above 90% in my all exams. But I think that there is some problem with my behaviour. I’m also worried about the money spent by my parents for my studies as I’m from a middle-class family and my parents are not at all rich. What should I do?
Angel

Dear Angel, I agree with you that “there is some problem” with your behaviour. Rather than preparing yourself regularly and seriously for your exams, you prefer not to sleep the night before the exams and study until dawn. So far you have been lucky and got good marks but your good luck may come to an end as you progress further with your studies and they get more difficult and complicated. A good habit of giving proper time to the preparation for your exams will help you throughout life to concentrate and achieve the best for your future. The sacrifices your parents are making for your education should motivate you to change your wrong approach.
