She

Controversy is her middle name
Always watched, it was her twisted claim to fame
“Don’t say that, it is absolutely unbecoming!”
Apparently general conjectures were the least of her concerns.
A disarray of confliction;
“Wow, she’s enigmatic,” they blurt.
Philosophy says the facade is one’s own making
Yet hers was one bitterly earned from a lifetime of solitude.
Under that bewitching masquerade
That rapturous, angelic aura!
One imagines, “Just how easy does she have it?”
Nevertheless only she will ever know the unvarnished truth:
The controversy is merely a smokescreen
Behind which loneliness has resided and forever will.
