I was shocked and very hurt
I am a 14-year-old girl studying in Std VIII. A few months ago my friends used to tease me with a boy in my class. He is really very handsome. I thought that it was true and I started to like him. But after a few days his friends said that it was a joke. I was very hurt as I loved him very much. After this he used to look at me sometimes secretly; even my friends noticed that he looks at me often during class. I was really confused. Recently, one of my very close friends said that he likes her and had even proposed to her. I was shocked and very hurt. I’m trying my best but I’m not able to forget him. Please help me.

Dear Ruby, the problem you are facing now is that you are “really confused” about your relationship with that boy. At your age, as you lack experience of life, it is common to be confused about friendship, love or infatuation. The fact that a boy looks at you “sometimes secretly” does not mean that both of you are mature enough for a love relationship beyond friendship. Besides, he seems undecided about whom he likes as he has “proposed” to another girl. This has emotionally disturbed you. My suggestion is that you concentrate on your studies rather than on who is looking at you more or less “secretly”.
