The soulmate

The soulmate
I saw him in the corridor,
At first glance our eyes met.
My heart wondered about him,
Searching… who is he?

Next day, the eyes I stared into,
The face I searched for was found in my class.
Days passed, staring changed
Into a strong bond of friendship.

Time, days and years passed,
Distance and circumstance separated us.
With a single autograph line
And with a few farewell pictures.

The times we laughed together,
Now made me cry alone.
Because of his memories,
Memories that haunted me.

The distance between us questioned me;
Was he my soulmate?
