We miss you, dear readers!
Covid-19 has literally terrorised the entire world! When the virus first struck Wuhan in China, in November last year, most people underestimated it, taking it for one of those epidemics (the world had witnessed quite a few of them) that strike a country or a region, once in a way, and would disappear without causing much harm elsewhere. This was not to be so with the Coronavirus or Covid-19 (Coronavirus disease) as it is now known.
Once it crossed the borders of China early this year, the virus spread very fast to countries like Italy, Spain, Iran, the U.K. and to the United States of America, where the number of people affected, and those dying from Covid-19 (crossing 40,000 as of today) is ever on the increase! India is not spared either, though the mortality rate and the number of people testing positive is quite low as compared to other countries much less populous than India. The recovery rate too is high because of the tireless efforts and the drastic steps taken by the Centre and the State governments.
The most drastic step, as we know, that the Indian government took is the strict nationwide lockdown for 21 days, which was then extended to another 19 days, taking the total number of lockdown days (for the first time in the history of India) to 40! Though the positive cases and the number of deaths seem to be increasing in certain “hotspots”, the “curve” is definitely flattening as per data available!
