You can go for Bachelor in Fine Arts (BFA). It is a four-year programme, for which eligibility is 10+2 in any stream. The programme starts with a one-year foundation course which is common for all enrolled. During this period, students are given fundamental training in drawing, design, colour and clay modelling. For the remaining three years, you can choose your specialization such as painting, sculpture, graphic arts, applied arts, photography, etc. The course also includes theory papers like History of Art; Aesthetics and Methods & Materials.

In general, institutes conduct all-India level aptitude tests for admission to BFA. Some of the good institutes are: Sir J. J. Institute of Applied Art, Mumbai (jjiaa.org/home.htm), Faculty of Visual Arts, Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata (rbu.ac.in), Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Madras, Chennai (unom.ac.in); Faculty of Visual Arts, BHU, Varanasi (bhu.ac.in); MS University, Baroda (msubaroda.ac.in); National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad (nid.edu), Visva Bharati, Santiniketan (visvabharati.ac.in).
